A fire broke out in a residential compound in Sitio Atisan, Barangay Cansojong, Talisay City, Cebu. Over 50 houses were destroyed, with estimated damage to properties pegged at P1.5 million. The school management said the fire erupted in the grade school library right after the graduation ceremony for elementary students at 11:45 a.m. Despite the location, no injuries and damage to properties were reported to have been caused by the incident.

Blaze hits Pasig residential area.
An early morning fire hit a residential area along Nagpayong St., Barangay Pinagbuhatan in Pasig City. According to the BFP, the fire started at 5:36 a.m. and was declared under control at 6:35 a.m. The fire was extinguished at 10:09 a.m. despite the difficulty encountered by the firefighters in putting out the fire as one of the affected properties contained tires and clothing materials.

BFP-Bacolod brings fire safety awareness campaign to modern jeepneys.
The BFP brought its fire safety advocacy campaign inside the modernized jeepneys as one of the initiatives in the local observance of Fire Prevention Month this March. Dubbed “Reels-On-The-Bus”, commuters can learn about fire safety by watching a 30-second advocacy video while traveling. Over 140 houses gutted, 1,800 people left homeless in Tondo fire.
